PHILIPPINES: Baroque Churches of the Philippines
San Augustin Church of Intramuros, Manila

Brief Description:
San Agustin is the first church built in the island of Luzon in 1571, immediately after the Spanish conquered the city of Manila. In 1587, the Agustinians decided to build a church and monastery made of stone. It is the only structure to survive the devastation wrought within Intramuros during the liberation of Manila.
